Summer fun with grandsons.

After months of making them wait we were finally able to get two of our grandsons for a visit. I was very pleased that Jake is totally potty trained(phew). We went to the park a couple of times, slept out in the backyard one night and went to the fish hatchery not once but twice, it was so much fun we had to go again with Papa. We were lucky enough to be able to take Aunt Jean with us also, she was visiting from Kentucky and quickly became a fast favorite of the boys.
We went to the Alpaca farm and got to see the new babies, they are so cute.
Jake said at least a million times, "grandma know what"? "no Jake, what"? "I love you". Talk about cute. Poor Ammon was great during the day but missed his momma terribly at night, he even asked if he could sleep with the 8 x 10 picture of her on the wall. If I asked him if he was crying he would say "no my eyes are leaking".
Papa and I decided to try and make the trampoline a litte more child friendly and shortened the legs, the boys absolutly loved it, Poor Amy! We are in the process of trying to make it work somewhere in between.

Well, I don't have any photos this time, Amy and I got back from almost 2 weeks in California with my parents. It was alot of fun. We saw a lot of movies, and hung out. We also spent time with my brothers Matt and Walt and with Walts family. I really enjoyed our time but it is really nice to get home.

Alpaca Farm

Today we went to an Alpaca Farm for a fieldtrip, it was really neat. They are very calm, docile animals and the kids just kind of wandered through the herd. I will attach some pictures later. There are 650 alpacas on the farm and raise them for their wool, they are amazingly soft, I was really surprised. It was one of the best fieldtrips I have ever been on.

My Classroom

So many of you have heard about my Montessori training and the fact that I have been a Montessori intern. Well the good news is I have passed my test wtih flying colors and I am awaiting my certificate. I decided I would post some pictures of my classroom. I hope you enjoy it, I am proud of it.

Well today is both happy and sad, Amy is 12 and in young women and I am not sure if I am ready for her to grow up. She went up to get her primary certificate and she was as tall as the counselor from the bishopric. And Will is 19 ....man I feel old. We had all the kids down but Joe and his family, wished we were here too. Kirsten brought her camera so I will have to get her to email me the pictures. So I will post them when I get them.

The Best is Yet to Come

As I have read the blogs of my daughters and nieces I thought "is there an age limit on blogging"? I answered myself "no". Of course the fact that I am not only talking to myself but answering also may cause a little concern for my family but not to worry.

I wanted this to be about things I am passionate about and those things are:

  • my grandchildren

  • my family

  • my grandchildren

  • preschool

  • my grandchildren

  • Montessori

  • my grandchildren

I am a mother of 6, grandmother of 4 and a preschool teacher to 16. Children are an important part of my life and I am drawn to them. And yes I would almost rather interact with children then adults.

Our Wales Home

Miraculous, a hand fed baby, she is really sweet.

If we move real slow they won't see us coming, next year no red shirts.
